The Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers has Congratulated the President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his victory in the presidential election held on February 25, 2023, in Nigeria.
The council in a statement by its Chairman, Oba Ayodele Adejuwon on Thursday also felicitated with elected members of the National Assembly in the just concluded election in the state and the country.
The traditional rulers, in the statement, expressed delight and satisfaction at the conclusion of the election, noting that the outcome was a true reflection of the wishes of the majority of Nigerians across the six geopolitical zones.
The council specifically commended the Ekiti electorate, ” for their peaceful conduct during and after the election despite the tension that normally follows such election in the country.”
Oba Adejuwon commended the Independent National Electorate Commission (INEC) for the successful completion of the election and called on the commission to take a critical review of its systems to ensure that some noticeable glitches are corrected to achieve a more perfect electoral process in the future.
The Council also congratulated all the elected members of the Senate and House of Representatives from Ekiti State on their victory at the poll.
It appealed to them to give the best representation to the Ekiti people and to work in cooperation with the Governor, Biodun Oyebanji for the socio-economic development of the State.
