Angola, DRC, Nigeria…can provide crucial energy to Europe, says Eni’s CEO

In 2022, the war in Ukraine reshuffled the cards for hydrocarbon supplies. Many African countries, including Nigeria, Angola and DRC, can provide crucial resources to Europe, says Eni’s CEO Claudio Descalzi. 

“The European Union [EU] should look to Africa rather than the United States to replace energy from Russia,” says ENI’s CEO Claudio Descalzi. He believes that working closely with African countries on energy matters could help create a new North-South axis.
