Dubai Police has confirmed that the city’s New Years Eve celebrations – which took place across 30 key locations on 31 December 2022 – resulted in no accidents or injuries.
As major firework displays took place across Dubai, event security professionals acted with professionalism and ensured that crowds could access and interact with locations safely.
As well as praising frontline security, Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief, Dubai Police recognised the work put in by the committee, which consists of 48 entities and institutions.
Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, Acting Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations Affairs, said that the force received 20,337 calls from 31 December until six am on 1 January; of these calls, the emergency hotline 999 received 19,147 calls, while the non-emergency toll number 901 received the remaining 1,190 calls.
