When long-time presidential contender Alan Kyerematen quit the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government on 5 January, he fired the starting gun on what is set to be a long and acrimonious campaign ahead of the 2024 elections.
Few doubt that Kyerematen resigned as Trade and Industry minister to focus on a presidential run in 2024 that will pit him against Vice President Mahamadu Bawumia, said to be favoured by President Nana Akufo-Addo.
