  1. Pickford, McGuire, Stones and Kane are the only 4 guaranteed to start. Every other spot is up for grabs. England are like Man City with 2 top players for every position.

  2. With the right attitude, the belief, the freedom to play their game, England can confidently score against any team in this tournament. That's not all that is needed to win – of course England's defence is shoddy and it may be our undoing. But the attack is all there – it's a scandal that is being squandered by a manager who is too inexperienced to take the breaks off the attack, even during high stakes matches.

  3. When you look at Germany and Belgium going out, and the likes of Brazil, Argentina, Spain, France and Portugal showing they can lose, only the most spoilt fans can be dissapointed with England's group performances.

  4. The likes of Germany, Uruguay and Belgium are out and the England fans still don’t appreciate the effort and work the team has put in, so critical yet not enough credit where it’s due

  5. I would expect England to win against Senegal and the first proper test will be against France all being well. It will be that game that will show if England are good enough or not. Time will tell I wouldn't get excited with the results so far against teams England are expected to beat .

  6. My team would be: Pickford, Shaw, Maguire, Stones, Trippier, Henderson, Rice, Rashford, Maddison, Saka, Kane (Maddison just behind Kane). And I would give instructions to Kane to stay in the box and score goals, and to leave the link-up play to Maddison. My team instructions: pass the ball forward quickly, and cross the ball first time for the overlapping full-backs to deliver – do not pass backwards and sideways unless you have to.
