U-20 AFCON: Flying Eagles duo named in CAF Best XI

Flying Eagles defenders, Augustine Njoku and Solomon Agbalaka have been included in the CAF Best X1 of the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) released the list on Sunday.

Right-back Njoku made four appearances for the Flying Eagles in the competition.

Njoku started Nigeria’s first four games but was dropped for the semi-final and final games against Gambia and Tunisia.

Agbalaka featured in all of the Flying Eagles’ six games in the competition. The left-back scored the winning goal in Ladan Bosso’s side’s 1-0 victory against hosts Egypt.

He won two Man of the Match awards against Egypt and Mozambique.

Champions Senegal had four players on the list, while Gambia and Congo contributed two each with Uganda having only one player.
